Rivers of Fairness
Imagine a powerful river that never stops flowing – crashing over rocks and filling up every dry and empty place. That’s the picture God paints when He talks about justice and doing what’s right. He wants fairness to flow everywhere! This mission explores Amos 5:24.
What Does Amos 5:24 Mean?
God spoke through the prophet Amos to a people who were going to worship and singing songs, but then treating poor people unfairly in everyday life. God basically said: your religious activities mean nothing if you aren’t treating people justly. He wants justice – fairness, protection for the vulnerable, and right treatment of everyone – to flow constantly, like a river that never dries up, touching every corner of society.

This week, look for one situation where something unfair is happening – maybe someone is being left out, teased, or treated unkindly – and take action. Speak up, include them, or report it to an adult. Be a little river of justice in your world!
Did You Know?
Amos was not a professional prophet – he was a shepherd and a fig farmer from a small town. God chose an ordinary guy to deliver one of the most powerful messages about fairness and justice in the entire Bible. That tells us God can use any of us to stand up for what’s right!

God, You are a God of fairness and justice. Help me care about what's right and fair the way You do. Give me courage to stand up for people who are treated unfairly, and make me a small river of Your justice wherever I go. Amen.
