Times of Refreshing: Turning Back to God
Verse Of The Day:
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." (Acts 3:19)
Imagine a hot summer day when you’re feeling tired and thirsty, and someone hands you a cool drink of water. That’s what it feels like when we turn back to God—He refreshes our hearts with His love and forgiveness! Acts 3:19 teaches us that when we repent and turn to God, He wipes away our sins and fills us with His peace and joy.
Repentance means saying sorry for the wrong things we’ve done and choosing to follow God instead. When we do this, God doesn’t just forgive us—He gives us a fresh start and a heart full of His love. It’s like washing away the dirt and feeling clean and new again.
God loves when we come back to Him, and He promises to refresh our hearts with His presence. Let’s turn to God every day, knowing that He is always ready to forgive us and fill us with His joy.
Refreshing Hearts Craft:
Create a “Refreshing Hearts” craft at home! Cut out a large heart from paper or cardboard and write “Turn to God” in the center. Around the heart, write words like “Forgiveness,” “Peace,” “Joy,” and “Love.” Decorate it with bright colors and raindrops to represent God refreshing us. Hang it up as a reminder to turn to God and experience His love every day. This craft helps kids understand that repentance leads to a fresh start with God.

Dear God, thank You for Your love and forgiveness that refresh our hearts. Help us to turn to You every day and to say sorry for the things we’ve done wrong. Teach us to trust in Your promise to wipe away our sins and fill us with Your joy and peace. Amen.
