Mission Briefing
God Is Working in YOU!
Here’s something amazing: God doesn’t just give you instructions and walk away. He actually gets INSIDE your heart and helps you want to do good and then gives you the power to DO it! How incredible is that?
What Does This Mean?
Paul is telling us something mind-blowing: the same God who created the universe is at work INSIDE us! “To will” means He helps us WANT to do the right thing – even when our hearts aren’t naturally leaning that way. “To work” means He gives us the actual power to carry it out. It’s not all on your own strength – God partners with you from the inside! This is what makes living for God exciting rather than exhausting.
Hero Challenge
Next time you don’t feel like being patient, kind, or forgiving, pray this simple prayer: “God, make me WANT to do what’s right, and then help me DO it.” Watch what happens as you give God permission to work in you through the day!
Did You Know?
Philippians is one of the most joyful books in the Bible – and Paul wrote it while he was in PRISON! He was experiencing God working powerfully in him even in a dark, difficult situation. That proves that God’s inner work isn’t stopped by our circumstances – He works in us no matter where we are!
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Can you think of a time when you wanted to do something good – like share or help someone? That wanting came from God working in your heart!
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
What’s the difference between trying to be good all on your own versus asking God to work in you? Which one do you think works better?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Paul says God works in us both to “will” and to “work.” Why do you think it’s important that God changes both what we want AND what we do – not just our actions?
♥ Mission Prayer
