Prize Runners: Running with Purpose for God’s Reward

Welcome, Faith Force Prize Runners! Today, we’re learning about running the race of life with focus and purpose, as shared in 1 Corinthians 9:24-25.

Verse Of The Day:

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." (1 Corinthians 9:24-25)

Imagine running a race, focusing on the finish line, and giving it your very best. In 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, Paul encourages us to run the race of life with purpose, aiming for the ultimate prize—a reward from God that lasts forever! Just like an athlete trains hard to win, we’re called to live with focus, dedication, and a heart for God.

Athletes train by practicing, eating right, and staying strong so they can do their best. In the same way, we train for our “race” of faith by praying, reading the Bible, and choosing to live for God every day. While earthly prizes and trophies don’t last, God’s reward is eternal, filling our hearts with joy, peace, and love forever.

God calls us to run with a purpose—to live in a way that honors Him and helps others see His love. When we focus on Him and stay faithful, we’re running for a “crown” that never fades. Let’s keep our eyes on God’s promises and run with all our hearts!

Crown of Faith Craft:

Create a “Crown of Faith” at home! Use a strip of paper or cardboard to make a crown, and write words like “Faith,” “Dedication,” “Purpose,” and “God’s Prize” on it. Decorate the crown with stars, crosses, or jewels to make it bright and joyful. Wear your crown as a reminder that you’re running your race for God’s reward, which lasts forever. This craft helps kids understand that their “race” is a journey of faith, aiming for God’s eternal reward.

Time For A Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for calling us to run the race of faith with purpose. Help us to focus on You, to stay dedicated, and to live in a way that brings honor to Your name. Teach us to train our hearts and minds for the prize You promise—a reward that lasts forever. May we run with joy, knowing You are with us every step of the way. Amen.

Keep running with purpose, Faith Force Prize Runners! Until our next Divine Dispatch, remember that you’re running for a prize that never fades. Let’s stay focused, train in faith, and live each day for God’s lasting reward!
