Moses was born to Hebrew parents during a time when Pharaoh had ordered the death of all newborn Hebrew boys. To save him, his mother placed him in a basket in the Nile, where he was discovered and adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter. Raised in the Egyptian royal household, Moses later fled to Midian after killing an Egyptian who was abusing a Hebrew slave. God called Moses from a burning bush to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, setting into motion a series of miraculous events that would change the course of history.
- Led the Exodus: Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, a defining moment in Jewish history, marked by the Ten Plagues and the miraculous parting of the Red Sea.
- Received the Ten Commandments: On Mount Sinai, Moses received the Ten Commandments from God, establishing the moral and ethical foundation for the Israelite community.
- Guided the Israelites for 40 Years: Moses guided the Israelites through the wilderness for 40 years, teaching them faith, obedience, and the laws given by God.
Pharaoh: The oppressive ruler of Egypt, Pharaoh opposed Moses and the Israelites, refusing to let them go and hardening his heart against God’s commands.
- Aaron: Moses’ brother and spokesperson, Aaron supported him in his mission and played a key role in communicating God’s messages to the Israelites and Pharaoh.
- Joshua: A loyal follower who assisted Moses and would eventually lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses’ death.
- The Israelites: Despite their challenges and doubts, the Israelite people followed Moses, relying on his leadership and guidance during their journey to freedom.
