Love Walkers: Living Out God’s Commandments
Verse Of The Day:
"And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love." (2 John 1:6)
Imagine walking down a path with signs that guide you along the way. These signs help you stay on the right path and keep you from getting lost. In 2 John 1:6, we learn that God’s commandments are like those signs—they guide us in how to live, and when we follow them, we are showing true love to God and others.
God’s greatest commandment is to love Him and to love others. When we choose to follow God’s commands, we are choosing to walk in love. It means being kind, honest, and caring, not just because we have to, but because we want to show God’s love through our actions. Every time we do something loving, we are walking in the way God wants us to.
Walking in love isn’t always easy. Sometimes, it means putting others before ourselves or doing what’s right even when it’s hard. But when we walk in love, we are shining God’s light for everyone to see. It’s like carrying a little bit of God’s love with us wherever we go, making the world a brighter and better place.
Love Path Activity:
Create a “Love Path” in your home or yard! Use chalk, tape, or paper to make a path on the floor, and along the path, place small signs or notes with different ways to show love, like “Help a friend,” “Say something kind,” or “Share with others.” Take turns walking the path and talking about how you can practice these loving actions in your daily life. This activity helps kids understand that following God’s commandments is a daily journey of love.
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for showing us the true meaning of love. Help us to walk in Your commandments every day, showing love to You and to others through our actions. Give us the strength to follow Your path, even when it’s difficult, and help us to always remember that walking in love brings us closer to You. Amen.
