Mission Briefing
You’ve Got a Mission
God didn’t just fix the friendship between Himself and people – He handed us a mission to help others experience that same fix! You’re not just a receiver of peace. You’re a carrier of it. How cool is that? This mission explores 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.
What Does 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 Mean?
Paul says that God reconciled us to Himself through Jesus – He made us friends again after sin broke that friendship. But then He gave US the job of spreading that same reconciliation to others. That means every faith-filled kid has a real ministry: the ministry of reconciliation. Wherever you go, you can help bring people back together – with each other and with God.
Hero Challenge
This week, look for one chance to be a peacemaker between two people who aren’t getting along – maybe two friends at school or two siblings at home. Don’t take sides. Help them listen to each other and find a way forward. You are God’s ambassador of peace!
Did You Know?
Paul uses the word “ambassador” just a couple of verses after this passage. An ambassador is someone who officially speaks and acts on behalf of their country. Paul is saying that Bible-believing kids and adults are ambassadors speaking on behalf of God’s kingdom – that’s an official, royal job title! How does that make you feel about who you are?
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
God made us His friends and wants us to help others be His friends too. Who is one person you could be extra friendly and kind to this week?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
What does it mean to have the “ministry of reconciliation”? How can a kid your age do that in real life?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
The verse says God is “not counting their trespasses against them.” How does knowing God doesn’t hold your mistakes against you change the way you treat people who mess up around you?
♥ Mission Prayer
God, thank You for making me Your friend and giving me a mission to share that friendship with others. Help me to be a peacemaker and an ambassador of Your love wherever I go. Amen.
