Healed by the Hero
Imagine carrying a backpack stuffed with every wrong thing you’ve ever done – heavy, right? Jesus took that backpack off your shoulders and carried it Himself all the way to the cross. That’s what today’s verse is all about! This mission explores 1 Peter 2:24.
What Does 1 Peter 2:24 Mean?
Peter is telling us something incredible: Jesus didn’t just die near our sins – He took them INTO His own body on the cross. Why? So that we could be set free from sin’s power and start living the right way. The phrase “by his wounds you have been healed” means that what hurt Jesus most is exactly what fixes what was most broken in us. His pain became our healing!
Hero Challenge
This week, every time you feel tempted to do something you know is wrong, pause and say quietly: “I am healed and free.” Then choose the right path. Keep a tally of how many times you caught yourself and chose well – it’s a superpower that grows the more you use it!
Did You Know?
Peter is quoting from the book of Isaiah, which was written 700 years before Jesus was born! Isaiah 53:5 predicted that a Servant of God would be wounded for our wrongdoings. It’s an amazing prophecy that came perfectly true in Jesus. The Bible really is one connected story pointing to Him!

Peter wrote this to people who were suffering for their faith. How might the truth that “by his wounds you have been healed” give someone courage when they’re going through a hard time?

Jesus, thank You for taking my sins on the cross so I don't have to carry them anymore. Help me to live for what is right and to remember that You have healed me. Amen.
