Mission Briefing
Your Work Matters – Never Give Up!
Have you ever worked really hard on something and wondered if it even mattered? Maybe you helped a friend, did your chores without being asked, or prayed for someone. God says every good thing you do for Him counts – forever! This mission explores 1 Corinthians 15:58.
What Does 1 Corinthians 15:58 Mean?
Paul wrote this verse to encourage people who felt tired or wondered if following God was worth it. “Steadfast” means standing firm like a tree in a storm – not moving, not giving up. “Abounding” means doing lots and lots of good things. God promises that when we do good things because we love Him, none of it is wasted – even if no one notices right away.
Hero Challenge
This week, pick one good thing to do every day – like helping a sibling, praying for someone, or encouraging a friend. At the end of the week, write down your list and remind yourself: God saw every single one, and it mattered!
Did You Know?
Paul wrote 1 Corinthians to a church that was struggling with a lot of problems and arguments. He ended the whole letter with this powerful encouragement – reminding them that staying faithful to God is always worth it, no matter what. This verse comes right after Paul’s big teaching about the resurrection, which means our hope in Jesus is what gives us strength to keep going.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Can you think of one good thing you did today? Did you know God saw it and smiled?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Why do you think God wants us to keep doing good things even when it feels hard or nobody notices?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Paul says our work is “not in vain” because of the resurrection – because Jesus rose from the dead. How does knowing Jesus is alive change the way you feel about doing hard things for God?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, thank You that You see every good thing I do, even when no one else does. Help me to keep going and not give up when following You feels hard. I want my life to count for You! Amen.
