What Real Love Looks Like
When you hear the word “love,” what do you picture? Feelings? Hearts? Hugs? The Bible gives us the real definition of love – and it’s not just a feeling. It’s a choice you make every single day! This mission explores 1 Corinthians 13:4.
What Does 1 Corinthians 13:4 Mean?
Paul lists what love actually does and doesn’t do. Patient love keeps calm even when things are frustrating. Kind love looks for ways to help and encourage. Real love doesn’t envy – that means it isn’t jealous when good things happen to someone else. It doesn’t boast or brag, and it isn’t arrogant (puffed up and full of itself). True love puts others first and stays humble!
Hero Challenge
Choose one quality of love from this verse – patience, kindness, not envying, not boasting – and focus on practicing it all week. When you catch yourself doing the opposite, stop and ask God to help you choose love instead. At the end of the week, share with a parent or friend what you noticed!
