Mission Briefing

Every Hero Needs a Team!

Even the greatest superheroes work better with a team. The Bible says that God’s people are like a body – every part matters, everyone is needed, and we are all meant to look out for each other. That’s not just nice advice – it’s a mission! This mission explores 1 Corinthians 12:25.

What Does 1 Corinthians 12:25 Mean?

Paul wrote to the church in Corinth – a group of very different people who sometimes struggled to get along. He compared the church to a human body: your eyes need your feet, your hands need your heart, and every single part is necessary. When one part hurts, the whole body feels it. God designed His people to care for each other so deeply that no one ever has to suffer alone or feel unimportant.

Hero Challenge

Look around your family, class, or friend group this week and spot someone who might be struggling or feeling left out. Find one specific way to show them you care – check in, help out, or simply make them feel seen. Be the team member you would want to have!

Did You Know?

The church in Corinth was one of the most gifted – and most divided – churches in the early faith community. People were arguing about who was the most important and whose gifts mattered most. Paul’s response was brilliant: instead of picking a winner, he said every single person is like a vital body part. Without each other, the whole body stops working!

Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question

What happens if one part of your body gets hurt – like your foot? Can you think of how that’s like being part of a team where everyone looks out for each other?

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question

Paul says we should “have the same care for one another.” What does it look like to genuinely care for someone in your class or group who is having a hard time?

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

Why do you think division is such a serious problem in a community of believers? What practical steps can you take to be someone who builds unity rather than allows division to grow?

♥ Mission Prayer

Lord, help me to care for the people around me the way I want to be cared for. Show me how to be a team player in my family, my class, and my faith community. Let no one feel left out when I'm around.
