Mission Briefing
Put God First and Watch What Happens
What’s the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning? Jesus gave some of the best life advice ever in this one powerful sentence – and it changes everything when you actually try it! This mission explores Matthew 6:33.
What Does Matthew 6:33 Mean?
Jesus was teaching His followers not to worry so much about food, clothes, and other everyday things. He wasn’t saying those things don’t matter – He was saying that when you make God and doing what’s right your number one priority, God takes care of all the rest. It’s like a secret life hack written by the Creator of the universe! When God is first, everything else falls into place.
Hero Challenge
For the next seven days, start your morning by spending two minutes talking to God before you look at your phone, play a game, or turn on the TV. Ask Him to lead your day and help you do what’s right. Journal what happens when you put Him first!
Did You Know?
Matthew 6:33 comes right in the middle of the Sermon on the Mount, which is the longest recorded teaching Jesus ever gave. He spent a lot of that sermon dealing with worry – because even 2,000 years ago, people stressed about the same kinds of things we do today! Jesus’s answer has never changed: put God first.
