Mission Briefing
God Always Keeps His Promises
Have you ever been promised something really exciting and then had to wait for it? Waiting is hard – but what if you knew for absolutely certain the promise would come true? That is exactly what God told His people through Jeremiah! This mission explores Jeremiah 33:14.
What Does Jeremiah 33:14 Mean?
God’s people had been through incredibly hard times – war, defeat, and being taken far from their homeland. They might have wondered if God had forgotten His promises. But Jeremiah wrote these words from a prison cell, delivering God’s message loud and clear: “The days are coming.” God had not forgotten. He was about to fulfill every promise He had made, and the greatest fulfillment of all would be sending Jesus. God always keeps His word – even when it takes longer than we expected.
Hero Challenge
Find one promise God makes in the Bible – try searching for “God promises” or look in a favorite psalm – and write it on a notecard. Put it somewhere you will see it daily this week. Every time doubt creeps in, read it out loud as a declaration of trust in God’s faithfulness.
Did You Know?
Jeremiah wrote this verse while he was in prison, during one of the darkest periods in Israel’s history. He had been locked up by the very king who did not want to hear God’s message. Yet even from his prison cell, Jeremiah faithfully delivered God’s promise of hope. That is what a real hero of faith looks like.
