Mission Briefing
You Were Made for This Moment!
Have you ever wondered if you were put in a certain place at a certain time for a reason? Queen Esther faced a terrifying choice – stay silent and stay safe, or speak up and risk everything. Her cousin Mordecai asked one of the most powerful questions in all of Scripture. Let’s dive in! This mission explores Esther 4:14.
What Does Esther 4:14 Mean?
Esther was a Jewish girl who had become queen of Persia. A wicked man named Haman planned to destroy all Jewish people in the kingdom. Mordecai urged Esther to go to the king and beg for mercy – even though approaching the king without being invited could mean death! He reminded her that maybe she was placed in this exact position AT THIS EXACT MOMENT to save her people. And she was brave enough to do it!
Hero Challenge
Think about where YOU are right now – your class, your family, your neighborhood. Is there someone who needs you to speak up, stand up, or show up for them? Ask God this week: “Did You put me here for such a time as this?” Then listen for His answer and be brave enough to act!
Did You Know?
The book of Esther is one of only two books in the Bible named after a woman – the other is Ruth! Interestingly, the name “God” never appears directly in the book of Esther, yet His fingerprints are on every single page. The story shows that God can use ordinary people in extraordinary ways, even when it doesn’t look like He’s working.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Esther was brave even when she was scared. Can you think of a time when you did something brave?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Mordecai said Esther might have been made queen “for such a time as this.” Do you think God puts people in the right place at the right time on purpose?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Esther had to choose between personal safety and doing the right thing. What risks might YOU face for standing up for what’s right, and how does your faith help you face those risks?

♥ Mission Prayer
God, just like Esther, help me to be brave in the place and time You have put me! Show me the moments when I need to speak up or stand up, and give me the courage to do it. Amen.
