Mission Briefing

You’ve Been Given a Peace Mission

God didn’t just fix the broken relationship between Himself and people – He then handed the mission to fix broken relationships to US! Every faith-filled kid is a minister of reconciliation. That means you have an official peace mission to carry out!

What Does This Mean?

Reconciliation means bringing two sides that were separated back together in peace. God did the ultimate version of this through Jesus – He brought people who were far from Him back into relationship with Himself. And then, amazingly, He said: “Now you go and do the same.” We are called to be bridge-builders, peace-makers, and relationship-restorers – in our homes, schools, and neighborhoods. That’s a big and beautiful calling!

Hero Challenge

Is there a broken friendship or family tension you could help heal this week? Think of someone you’ve argued with or drifted away from. Take the first step toward reconciliation – say sorry, reach out, or simply start a kind conversation. Being a peacemaker takes courage, but it’s exactly what God calls us to!

Did You Know?

Paul wrote 2 Corinthians during a particularly difficult time in his relationship with the church in Corinth – there had been misunderstandings and hurt feelings between them. So Paul was writing about reconciliation while he himself was working to restore a broken relationship! His letter eventually helped heal that rift, proving that the ministry of reconciliation actually works.

Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question

Have you ever made up with a friend after a fight? How did it feel when you were friends again? That’s what reconciliation feels like!

Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question

God brought us back to Himself through Jesus and then gave us the job of helping others make peace. What’s one way you can be a “peace-bringer” this week?

Ages 10-13: Champion Question

The “ministry of reconciliation” is described as a calling from God – not just a nice idea. What does it mean for this to be an official mission in your life? How does that change the way you approach conflict with others?

♥ Mission Prayer

God, thank You for reconciling me to Yourself through Jesus. Give me the courage to be a bridge-builder and peacemaker in my relationships. Help me to carry Your ministry of reconciliation every day. Amen.
