Mission Briefing
Do Everything for God!
What if doing your homework, washing the dishes, or even cleaning your room could be an act of worship? According to the Bible, it absolutely can be – because everything we do can be done for GOD! This mission explores Colossians 3:23-24.
What Does Colossians 3:23-24 Mean?
“Work heartily” means giving your absolute best effort – not just doing the minimum to get by. Paul says to imagine you’re working FOR GOD, not just for your teacher, your parents, or your boss. When you work that way, everything changes! You stop just trying to impress people and start doing your best because God deserves your best. And here’s the amazing bonus: God promises to reward that kind of faithful, wholehearted work!
Hero Challenge
Pick one task you normally rush through this week – a chore, a homework assignment, or a job at school. Before you start it, pray: “God, I’m doing this for You.” Then give it your very best effort and see how it feels different when your audience is God!
Did You Know?
Paul wrote Colossians while under house arrest in Rome – but even then, he was working wholeheartedly for God! He wrote letters that are still being read thousands of years later. No matter what situation we’re in, we can always serve God faithfully right where we are.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
When you help clean up your toys, you can do it for God! How does that make even small jobs feel special?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
How would you do your schoolwork differently if you knew God was watching and grading it? Would you change anything?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
Paul says God rewards faithful work. How does knowing that change your attitude toward things that feel boring, hard, or unnoticed by others?
♥ Mission Prayer
Lord, help me to do everything — even the boring or hard things — as if I'm doing them for You. I want my work to be an act of worship. Thank You that You see every effort I make! Amen.
