Building Your Eternal Foundation!
Welcome, Faith Force Foundation Builders! Today, we’re learning how to build a foundation that lasts forever, as shared in 1 Timothy 6:18-19.
Verse Of The Day:
"Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life." (1 Timothy 6:18-19)
Have you ever built something on a strong foundation versus a shaky one? Paul teaches us how to build a foundation for eternity!
Paul says “Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.” Notice he doesn’t say “be rich in money” – he says be “rich in GOOD DEEDS!” The way to be truly rich is by doing lots of good things, being generous, and sharing freely with others.
Here’s why this matters: “In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age.” Every good deed you do, every time you’re generous, every time you share – you’re laying down another stone in your eternal foundation! This foundation isn’t for this life only, but “for the coming age” – meaning it lasts FOREVER in heaven!
The goal? “So that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” Real life isn’t about collecting stuff and being rich in things. Real life is about being rich in good deeds and generous living! That’s the foundation that will support you forever – not money or possessions, but a life built on kindness, generosity, and good works!
What kind of foundation are you building?
My Firm Foundation Builder:
Get building blocks, LEGO bricks, or cut out paper blocks. Each time you do a good deed, share generously, or help someone this week, write it on a block and add it to your foundation structure. Try to build a foundation with at least 10 “good deed blocks” by the end of the week! Watch your firm foundation for eternity grow taller and stronger!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, help us be rich in good deeds, not just rich in stuff! Make us generous and willing to share so we can lay up treasure as a firm foundation for eternity. Show us that the life that is truly life comes from good works and generous living. Make us foundation builders! Amen.
