Sharing Everything So No One Goes Without!
Welcome, Faith Force Community Sharers! Today, we’re learning how the first Christians shared everything to take care of each other, as shared in Acts 2:44-45.
Verse Of The Day:
"All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need." (Acts 2:44-45)
Have you ever been part of a team or group where everyone helped each other and shared what they had? That’s exactly what the first Christians did!
“All the believers were together and had everything in common” – the early church wasn’t a group of strangers who only saw each other on Sundays. They were a real community who shared everything! If one person had extra food, they shared it. If someone had toys or clothes they didn’t need, they gave them away. Nothing was just “mine” – it was “ours.”
But here’s the most amazing part: “They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.” When someone in their church family needed help, other believers would actually sell their own stuff to get money to help them! Why? Because they cared more about making sure no one went without than about keeping everything for themselves.
The goal was simple – if you have something and your brother or sister in Christ needs it, you share! Nobody should go hungry, cold, or without help when others in the church family have extras. That’s what real community looks like!
Community Sharing Challenge:
This week, practice living like the early church! Look around your room and find THREE things you could share with someone who needs them more than you do – toys you don’t play with, clothes that don’t fit, books you’ve already read, or snacks you could give to someone who’s hungry. Give them away to someone in need. Then, with your family, talk about one way you could help someone who’s struggling – maybe a neighbor, classmate, or someone at church who needs help!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, help us be like the early church that shared everything! When we see someone in need, give us generous hearts that want to help. Help us care more about taking care of each other than about keeping everything for ourselves. Make our church family a place where no one goes without! Amen.
