The Generous Sowing Principle!
Welcome, Faith Force Generous Sowers! Today, we’re learning about giving generously and cheerfully, as shared in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7.
Verse Of The Day:
"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
Have you ever planted seeds and noticed that more seeds planted means a bigger harvest? Paul uses farming to teach us about giving!
“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” Farmers know this principle – if you plant just a few seeds, you get a small harvest. Plant lots of seeds, get a big harvest! The same applies to giving – generous givers receive generous blessings (though not always money – often joy, friendships, and spiritual rewards).
But attitude matters too! “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” God doesn’t want forced giving or grumpy giving. He loves when we give joyfully and willingly! Cheerful generosity is what pleases God’s heart!
Generous Sowing Comparison Garden:
Use two clear containers with soil. Plant just 2-3 seeds in one labeled “Sparingly” and many seeds in another labeled “Generously.” Water both and watch which produces more! Add a smiley face to the generous one to remember God loves cheerful givers!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, help us understand that generous sowing leads to generous reaping! When we give, help us give cheerfully and willingly, not reluctantly or because we have to. Make us joyful, generous givers who sow abundantly. Thank You for loving cheerful givers! Amen.
