Give God Your First and Best!
Welcome, Faith Force Firstfruit Givers! Today, we’re learning about honoring God with our resources, as shared in Proverbs 3:9-10.
Verse Of The Day:
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine." (Proverbs 3:9-10)
Have you ever given someone your leftovers and called it a gift? God teaches us to give Him something much better!
“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops” – “firstfruits” means the first and best portion, not what’s left over after we’ve spent on everything else! When farmers harvested crops, God wanted the premium quality first pickings, not the damaged leftovers. This honors God by showing He’s our top priority.
The amazing promise: “then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” When we put God first with our money, time, and resources, He promises to provide abundantly! This doesn’t mean we give to get rich, but God takes care of those who honor Him first. You can’t out-give God!
Firstfruits Priority Box:
Decorate a small box with “God Gets My FIRST and BEST” written on it! When you receive money (allowance, gifts, earnings), put God’s portion in this box FIRST before spending on anything else. This trains you to honor God with your firstfruits!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, help us honor You with our wealth by giving You the first and best, not leftovers! When we receive money or resources, remind us to put You first. Thank You for the promise that when we honor You first, You'll provide abundantly. Help us trust You with our firstfruits! Amen.
