Don't Be Afraid: Just Believe!
Welcome, Faith Force Fear Fighters! Today, we’re learning about Jesus’ powerful words that help us overcome fear with faith, as taught in Mark 5:36.
Verse Of The Day:
"Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, 'Don't be afraid; just believe.'" (Mark 5:36)
Have you ever received scary news that made your heart feel like it was sinking? In Mark 5:36, a man named Jairus had just been told his daughter had died. Can you imagine how afraid and sad he felt?
But then Jesus spoke some of the most powerful words in the Bible: “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” When everything seemed hopeless, Jesus encouraged Jairus to replace his fear with faith. And guess what happened? Jesus went to Jairus’ house and brought his daughter back to life!
Jesus wants us to know that even when things seem impossible or scary, we can trust Him. Fear tells us to give up, but faith tells us to look to Jesus. When we choose to believe instead of being afraid, we open the door for Jesus to work in amazing ways!
Faith Trumps Fear Flip Cards:
Create cards with “FEAR” written on one side and “FAITH” on the other. On the fear side, write situations that make you scared. On the faith side, write “Jesus says: Just believe!” and a way to trust God in that situation. Flip the card when fear comes to remind yourself to choose faith!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank You for Your powerful words: "Don't be afraid; just believe." When we face scary situations, help us to flip fear into faith by trusting in You. Thank You for being with us in every situation and for doing things that seem impossible. Help our faith to grow stronger every day. Amen.
