Do Good: Learning to Seek Justice and Help Others
Welcome, Faith Force Justice Heroes! Today, we’re discovering how to live out God’s call to do good in the world through Isaiah 1:17.
Verse Of The Day:
"Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." (Isaiah 1:17)

Have you ever wondered what God wants you to do each day? Isaiah 1:17 gives us a clear picture! This verse is like God’s to-do list for His people, showing us how to live in ways that please Him and help others.
First, God tells us to “learn to do right.” This means we need to practice doing good things until they become habits. Just like learning to ride a bike or play an instrument takes practice, doing what’s right takes practice too!
Then God gives us specific actions to take: “seek justice” means to actively look for ways to make things fair. “Defend the oppressed” means to stand up for people who are treated unfairly. “Take up the cause of the fatherless” means to help children who don’t have parents. “Plead the case of the widow” means to care for people who have lost their spouses.
When Isaiah wrote these words, widows and orphans often had no one to protect them. God wanted His people to be their helpers and defenders. Today, God still wants us to notice people who need help and to take action to care for them.
When we follow Isaiah 1:17, we’re showing God’s love in practical ways. We become His hands and feet in the world, making a real difference in people’s lives!
"Helping Hands" Mobile:
Trace your hands on different colors of paper and cut them out. On each hand, write one way you can help others based on Isaiah 1:17 (like “Share my toys,” “Include everyone at recess,” “Be kind to new kids,” “Help someone who is sad”). Punch a hole at the bottom of each hand, tie string through it, and hang all the hands from a hanger or stick to create a mobile. Hang it up to remind your family of ways you can be God’s helpers!
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for teaching us how to do good in the world. Help us learn to do what's right and to seek justice. Give us courage to defend those who are treated unfairly. Open our eyes to see people who need our help, and show us ways we can make a difference. Help us to be Your hands and feet, showing Your love to everyone around us. Amen.
Keep doing good, Faith Force Justice Heroes! Until our next Divine Dispatch, remember that God calls us to actively seek justice and help others. Let’s practice doing right every day and be the helpers God wants us to be!
