Unveiling the Legend

Solomon was the son of King David and Bathsheba, born after a time of great personal and national turmoil. When David was nearing the end of his reign, Solomon was chosen by God to succeed him as king. Solomon’s rule began with an important moment: when offered anything by God, Solomon asked for wisdom to govern Israel well. God, pleased by his selflessness, granted him wisdom and even more—riches and honor. Solomon became known as the wisest man to ever live, ruling Israel during its golden age. His reign was marked by peace, prosperity, and the construction of the First Temple in Jerusalem, a project that symbolized Israel’s devotion to God.
