Guided Steps: Trusting God’s Direction
Verse Of The Day:
"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." (Proverbs 16:9)
Imagine you’re setting off on a hike with a map you’ve made yourself. You have a plan, but sometimes the path changes, and you need a guide to show you the best way forward. That’s what God does for us! Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that while we can make plans, it’s God who directs our steps and leads us to the best path.
God loves when we dream big and make plans for our lives, but He also wants us to trust Him to guide us. Sometimes our plans might change, but God’s guidance is always perfect. He knows the way forward and wants what’s best for us, so when He changes our path, it’s to bring us to a place of blessing, growth, and joy.
When we let God lead us, we’re saying, “God, I trust You more than my own ideas.” It’s okay to plan and dream, but remember that God’s plan is always better, even if it looks different from what we expected. Let’s walk with confidence, knowing He’s guiding our steps every day.
Path of Trust Craft:
Create a “Path of Trust” at home! Draw a path on a piece of paper, and along the path, write down things you’re hoping or planning for, like “Being kind,” “Helping others,” or “Learning new things.” At the end of the path, write “God’s Perfect Plan” to remind yourself that God will guide your steps. Decorate the path with stars, arrows, or hearts to make it fun. This craft helps kids remember to trust God with their plans, knowing He leads them in the best way.
Time For A Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for guiding our steps even when we make our own plans. Help us to trust You with every part of our lives and to remember that Your way is always best. Teach us to listen to Your guidance and follow You, knowing that You will lead us to wonderful things. Amen.
