Mission Briefing
Love Comes From God
Did you know that every time you show love to someone, you are sharing something that comes straight from God? Love is not just a feeling – it is a gift that God gives us, and we get to pass it on! This mission explores 1 John 4:7.
What Does 1 John 4:7 Mean?
John is writing to remind us that love does not start with us – it starts with God. When we choose to be kind, caring, and generous to others, we are showing that God is alive in our hearts. This verse says that anyone who truly loves others has come to know God, because God is the very source of love itself.
Hero Challenge
This week, pick one person in your family or at school and do something loving for them every single day – a kind word, a helping hand, or a smile. At the end of the week, write down how it felt to share God’s love with others.
Did You Know?
The book of 1 John was written by the apostle John, who is often called “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” John saw firsthand how Jesus showed love to everyone He met, and he wanted every reader to understand that love is the heartbeat of who God is.
Ages 4-6: Little Hero Question
Can you name one person you love? How can you show them you love them today?
Ages 7-9: Growing Hero Question
Why do you think John says love comes from God and not just from us? What difference does that make?
Ages 10-13: Champion Question
If love really comes from God, what does that tell us about people who show great love to others, even if they have never heard of the Bible? How should that change the way we see people around us?
♥ Mission Prayer
God, thank You for being the source of all love. Help me to show Your love to the people around me today, even when it is hard. Fill my heart with so much of Your love that it spills out onto everyone I meet. Amen.
